Dark Age Version 0.4.790 Released!

This new release contains the first dungeon of the game.There is also a new quest linked with the dungeon at the end.The dungeon is located north east of the starting town,you can just go directly there but the mobs inside are though so be careful :)
Also Marius Gräfe has animated the goblin model,the goblin has walk and attack animations now.

The forums are updated the to phpbb 4.0.4,no one is using them at the moment but it's good to stay updated right?
I have found and fixed the bug that was causing crashes on v0.4.678.It is included in the test build but I won't make another release yet.I want too add a few more quests and gameplay features before making another release.
I have also switched to DX March 2009 SDK so the test builds may not work if you don't have the required dlls.The next release will include the newer dlls.
I also managed to remove some unused texture files from the models directory which will hopefully reduce the download size of the next release.There will be some new models in the next release and the starting town Karatin has changed a little.Here is a screenshot from the latest version.



Dark Age Version 0.4.678 Released!

This is a small update to version 0.4.603.It includes shadows,small improvements and some crash fixes.I have also update to november 2008 Direct X SDK.I have also added scripting support via Lua and LuaBind but at the moment there is no scripts.

Dark Age v0.4.603 Released!

Released version 603 for Dark Age there are lots of improvements in this release and two new quests.

-Target Level and chance to hit that target is shown on the top of the screen.
-Density of the clouds change randomly.
-Quest items can not be sold to merchants.
-Added compass to interface.
-Fixed an issue in collision detection.
-Bridges and rivers.
-If there aren't any weapons equipped when you pick up a weapon that weapon will be equipped automatically.
-Options menu.Entity and terrain reflections can be turned off from the options menu.
-Game saving,loading from the main menu and the ingame menu.
-In game menu.(Save,Load,Options,Quit)
-Pressing 'G' collects all nearby items.
-Items are looted by clicking on them.
-Quests can be completed even if the player doesn't have them yet.
-Fixed farm,barracks,watchtower,lumbermill and windmill models.
-VSync can be enabled/disabled before starting the game.
-Collision between hostile NPCs.Player can't pass through hostile NPCs.
-House models corrected and retextured.
-Quests status is displayed in the quest log along with award xp and gold.
-Autorun is only canceled by pressing W or S.

Download counters are back

I have written a small script which increases download counters for the download page.The old script was from a site on the web and it was using plain text files.It worked well for sometime but one day all the counts and links disappeared.Now the download counts are stored in MySQL database and when a new link is added the script creates a new entry in the table and sets the download count to 1.This will make adding new downloads much easier.
